I was wondering when this would be implemented. I see that it's in the future DB thread, but the last time any info was posted about it was in 2008.

If it's still a project that is going to be tackled and you need some help with some data input (ex. step count, songs, etc.) I'd more than happy to help. This is the ONLY site I've found that has even mentioned the possibility of Pump tracking.

I've maintained my policy on new databases that, "if you get me the data, I'll get it online."  I haven't seen word one from any of the supporters of this site regarding PIU, and as a consequence I haven't developed any kind of tracking support for it.  If you would like to assist in bringing this idea to life, I would need (per mix):

-A complete songlist including song name, artist, difficulty mode, and difficulty rating.
-Step data for each song (usually no. of steps for a full combo is sufficient, however if you have simfiles that is also welcome)
-Information on each scoring system (what constitutes an 'A' grade, are jumps counted as one step or multiple, how are freezes calculated, etc.)

There is a lot of what I call "monkey work" involved in doing stuff like this-- it isn't fun and it takes a long time, but if you're willing to put in the time I'll be glad to expand the site.

Usually freezes are just counted like a stream. So if you hold down a freeze, the combo will keep counting upward in accordance with the bpm. The scoring system is pretty much clear = A full combo = S but I know that's not right. I think the leniency for an A is just absurd. This game's never really been that great as far as scoring goes IMO.

Alright, that's about what I figured-- since my experience with different versions of the game is quite limited, I thought I'd ask to be sure.  Given the lackluster scoring system, I'll simply apply a proprietary calculation that'll make it percentage-based-- e.g. 100% for a perfect score-- rather like the ITG system.

Get me the data and I'll get you (as time allows) results.  Grin

Percentage based IMO is the best way to go as well. Pump-haven has a good chunk of info on their site. Here's a link where you can get master lists of all the step charts and their ratings, however I'm not sure if they have stepcounts anywhere on the site. Still, it's somewhere to start. Also, I feel as though if we're going to implement this into the server, that we don't need to go any earlier than either exceed. Occasionally I'll see either a 3rd prex or premiere (hell, I really don't know, I just know I mean an older mix in general) but exceed was where they started to see a bit more consistency between the mixes to follow, as well as more regular play from people.
